The master craftsmen of the French manufacturer S.T. Dupont have mastered an art that is particularly rare today:
They know how to combine the finest Chinese lacquer with precious metals. With its depth, rich color, sensual feel and shine, this material is unique and unmistakable.
Chinese lacquer gives a feeling of eternity beyond the simple idea of luxury.
Since 1930, the secret of Chinese lacquer processing has been practiced by “lacquer masters” at S.T. Dupont and passed on as the company’s artisanal legacy. In a complex process, real Chinese lacquer is created from the resin of the Asian lacquer tree. The lacquer colors are mixed by the lacquer master himself according to secret recipes. The Chinese lacquer is then applied to the writing instruments by hand by specialists in Faverges. Each layer is dried in the oven at precise temperatures for a specific time and then polished…
