This Great Characters Edition honors one of the most revolutionary and influential jazz musicians of all time – Miles Dewey Davis. Miles Davis was a prolific innovator, instigating five major jazz periods containing eight distinct movements. Starting his career under Charlie Parker in the bebop style, he departed from this at the end of the 1940s with his Birth of the Cool nonets – compositions for 9 musicians. He went on to lay the foundations for hard bop and modal jazz with his groundbreaking album Kind of Blue (1959).

Ten years later, In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew mixed elements from funk and rock to create fusion jazz. Commemorating the jazz genius with the cool trumpet sound, the overall shape of the Miles Davis Limited Edition 90 is inspired by the look of a trumpet, with three finger valves inlaid with mother-of-pearl appearing on the clip. The hint of blue beneath the Au 750 solid white gold skeletonized cap and barrel of the Miles Davis Limited Edition 90 is inspired by the famous Miles Davis album Kind of Blue, recorded in 1959.

The cap is decorated with an Au 750 solid red gold trumpet and engraved with symbolic references to the five major jazz periods he helped to create. Both the engraving of three trumpet valves on the nib and the shape of the clip are dedicated to the instrument Miles Davis made legendary. This unique Limited Edition is further adorned with red gold stars set with diamonds and ‘2006’ engraved on the barrel in memory of the year his name was entered in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
