Description
Montblanc Patron of Art Edition 888 – Homage to Hadrian (2019)
Limited Edition, Marble & Precious Metals, including original packaging
A masterpiece of writing culture and a tribute to one of the most important figures of antiquity: Hadrian, Emperor of Rome and patron of peace, architecture, and the arts. The Montblanc Patron of Art Edition 888 is dedicated to him – a symbol of vision, stability, and aesthetic vision.
Hadrian’s legacy extends far beyond his 21-year reign (from 117 AD). As one of the “Five Good Emperors,” he created an empire of peace and erected monumental buildings – including the world-famous Pantheon in Rome, whose iconic dome served as the architectural model for the design of this edition.
Design & Materials
The body is crafted from genuine marble – a homage to classical architecture. The cone and cap are made of solid 925 sterling silver with finely crafted 18K (750) yellow gold inlays. The cap ring and the conical engraving depict the image of Janus – the Roman god of beginnings and transitions.
The cap tip is inspired by the curved shape of the Pantheon; instead of the round oculus, the Montblanc emblem in mother-of-pearl adorns the center.
